What Is PerformCare NJ? (Children’s System of Care)

By the Autumn ABA clinical team · BCBA-led, in-home ABA across New Jersey

If you’re navigating services for a child with autism in New Jersey, you’ll likely hear about PerformCare. Here’s what it is and how it works — in plain language.

The front door to NJ's Children's System of Care

PerformCare is the contracted administrator for New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care (CSOC), part of the Department of Children and Families. Think of it as a single point of entry: families can call PerformCare to access behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), and related services for children and youth. It’s available 24/7 and is free to contact.

How families use it

A parent (or provider, with consent) can contact PerformCare to request services, and a care coordinator helps connect the family to supports they may qualify for — which can include I/DD eligibility, family support, and other services. Programs and eligibility are determined by the state; this is general information, so confirm specifics directly. Reach PerformCare at performcarenj.org or 1-877-652-7624.
